January 28, 1971, reviews the film "The Statue" —
There is not much point in going into the dialogue,
but you'll get the idea from the line spoken by
a little girl who is shown gazing in wonderment
at the copy of Michelangelo's work in the
Piazza della Signoria in Florence.
"Golly," she says, "if that's David, I'd like to see Goliath!"
"The Statue" may have the distinction of being the first
adolescent comedy about penis envy.
