Eightfold Epiphany

The reported death today at 105 of an admirable war correspondent,
"a perennial fixture at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in Hong Kong,"
suggested a search in this journal for that city.

The search recalled to mind a notable quotation from
a Montreal philosopher —

“… the object sets up a kind of
 frame or space or field
within which there can be epiphany.”

Charles Taylor, "Epiphanies of Modernism,"
Chapter 24 of Sources of the Self
(Cambridge U. Press, 1989, p. 477)

For some context, see St. Lucia's Day, 2012.
