George Carlin
Dies at 71

Comedian George Carlin died
yesterday in Santa Monica at
about 6 PM PDT (9 PM EDT).

Earlier this month, told he would
receive this year’s Mark Twain
award for comedy, Carlin said,

“Thank you, Mr. Twain.
Have your people
call my people.”
